#VisitZasavje - a common campaign for the promotion of the entire Zasavje region

Discover, authentically enjoy and share online the beauties of the Zasavje region is the guiding principle of the #VisitZasavje campaign. A common campaign with an aim to improve the tourist visibility of the Zasavje region began on the 1st of August. The campaign was created at the initiative of the Zasavje Regional Development Agency, and was conceived and designed in cooperation with organizations and individuals working in the field of tourism in the Zasavje region. It will take place in August and September 2022.

The organizers of the #VisitZasavje campaign invite residents and visitors of the Zasavje region to visit all four municipalities of the Zasavje region (Hrastnik, Trbovlje, Zagorje ob Savi and Litija) in the period between 1 August 2022 and 30 September 2022. The purpose of the campaign is to increase the visibility of the Zasavje region as a unique tourist destination.

#VisitZasavje is a test digital campaign, with which the organizers want to encourage residents and visitors of the Zasavje region to share photos or videos of places of tourist interest on the social networks Facebook and Instagram and tag their posts with #VisitZasavje. The aim of the campaign is for the Zasavje region to be told about and promoted by the people who live here. Thus, they will present the Zasavje region in the most authentic and attractive light.

How to participate in the campaign?
Visit one point in each municipality of the region (tourist attraction or tourist point, point of interest, event, guest house, location in the natural environment, etc.) and take a photo or make a short video at the location. Post the photo or video on Facebook or Instagram and tag the post with the text #VisitZasasvje (it is also welcome to make the text #VistiZasasvje in a physical form, e.g. write it on a piece of paper and take a photo/video with it).

The organizers will monitor the appropriately marked announcements accurately and up-to-date and distribute them on the VisitZasavje Facebook page, which has been opened for the needs of the campaign. It will be welcome if you include your impressions of the visit in the posts, write down additional tags (e.g. #VisitTrbovlje, #PotSrečno, #Europark, #FestivalFunšterc,...), add something interesting, etc. Selected posts will also be shared on the websites and profiles of participating organizations.

Rewards and incentives for active promoters
Zasavje catering providers, tourist service providers, associations, event organizers, artisans and other providers are also actively participating in the #VisitZasavje campaign. Participating providers grant incentives or prizes for those who will visit one point in each municipality of Zasavje region during the campaign, including their own location, of course. The #VisitZasasvje campaign represents a good opportunity to promote providers.

How to participate as a provider?
The organizers invite a wide variety of providers from the Zasavje region to participate. To participate in the campaign, the provider prepares a video with short instructions, posts it on Facebook or Instagram and tags it with #VisitZasavje.

About the VisitZasavje initiative and the development of tourism
The Zasavje Regional Development Agency points out that in order to develop competitive tourism and improve the recognition of the Zasavje region, it is necessary to act regionally, take advantage of all of Zasavje potentials and work together to develop a unique destination that will be recognizable at home and internationally. The potential of the region for the development of tourism is considerable, European and national programs are also promising. The agency is currently implementing two international projects to promote the development of tourism (the Pronacul project within the Interreg Adrion program and the Ramsat project within the Interreg Europe program).

The working group for the preparation of the #VisitZasasvje campaign was participated in by: Zasavje Regional Development Agency, Development Center Srca Slovenije, TIC Litija, TIC Hrastnik, Municipality of Zagorje ob Savi, RMED Srečno Zagorje, Virtual Mining Museum 4. dritl, Institute for Culture Delavski dom Trbovlje, Institute for Youth and Sports Trbovlje, Kareta Turizem, Regional Tourist Association KUM, Regional NGO Center, Vlado Poredoš, tourist guide for the Zasavje region, and some individuals.
