The project Bridge was formed in collaboration between the Institute for youth and sports Trbovlje and the consortium partner Development agency Kozjansko, unit Youth centre Šentjur. Regional development agency Zasavje participates in the project as a support partner.
The aim of the project is to increase the employability and employment of young people by reducing the gap between the young unemployed and employers through youth work methods. As part of the project, the contractors are developing a training model that addresses the challenges of young people entering the labour market, prevents long-term unemployment and social exclusion and by promoting active participation in the local environment contributing to the acquisition of general, specific competencies for greater employability and community development, thereby affecting young people, field of youth work and beyond. The project will be implemented in 2020 and 2021.
Project goals:
Strengthening the competencies of young people for greater employability through the implementation of trainings.
40 young individuals from two regions (Zasavska and Savinjska region) will be included in a comprehensive training program to strengthen soft and specific skills, which will encourage active participation, enable the acquisition of skills that will serve to find employment and personal development.
Strengthening the youth sector with methods for working with young unemployed individuals.
Based on the experience with youth work, the project will develop a tool for youth workers to strengthen competencies to increase employability among young people and train them to work with them.
Enable young people to contact employers with an aim of expanding the social network.
Young people will carry out 8 activities with employers during the project.
Raise the level of active participation in society.
With the support of mentors, young people will conduct 10 events for peers from local communities of both regions.
The investment is co-financed by Republic of Slovenia and European Union from the European Social Fund. Public tender for the selection of operations is implemented within the Operational Program for the Implementation of European Cohesion Policy in the time period 2014-2020, priority axes: 8. "Employment promotion and transnational labour mobility", priority investments: 8.2 "Sustainable integration of young people into the labour market (ESS), in particular those who are neither employed nor involved in education or training, including young people at risk of social exclusion and young people from marginalized communities, through the implementation of the Youth Guarantee ", specific objective: 8.2.1" Reducing youth unemployment «.
